Our Story: Faith on the Open Water
Welcome to Word on the Water Ministries. Our mission is simple yet profound: to take people out onto the beautiful open waters, completely free of charge to worship God, experience His creation, and fellowship together.
But to understand why we do this, you have to look at how God brought two distinct passions together to anchor one single ministry.
The Captain’s Calling
For the past eights years, Captain James has navigated the local waters as a professional charter fishing guide with Living Water Charters but for him welcoming people on board was never just about the catch of the day-it was about sharing the ultimate catch. Every time a new group stepped onto his boat, James found natural, powerful opportunities to share God’s word. The ocean became his sanctuary and his passengers became his congregation and he saw firsthand how being out on the water broke down walls, brought peace and opened hearts to the Gospel. Thru this a vision began to form: “What if we could offer this to anyone, regardless of their financial situation, purely for the glory of God?”
The Vision Shared & Fueled
This is where two worlds collided: James’ wife Celena, being a local event planner and the founder of The Anchored Union Wedding and Events, has spent time helping couples and families celebrate some of life’s most beautiful milestones. Together they realized that these two businesses weren’t just careers-they were the engine designed to fund a bigger ministry.
Today they proudly run both companies side-by-side, pouring their hearts into the day-to-day, so they can use the proceeds to fund, Word on the Water Ministries.
Because of the support of the the commercial businesses, Word on the Water Ministries can operate with 100% giving heart. We invite individuals, families and groups to step away from the noise of the world and climb aboard for FREE, to join in heartfelt worship and the life-changing truth of God’s word.
